Problem: The client is a Power Generation company (subsidiary of one of Africa’s biggest Energy and Hospitality conglomerates) which got listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange to raise capital to increase its power generation capacity. We got the brief to create awareness for the public listing, cause engagement and drive investors’ interest in buying shares through authorized brokers online and offline.
Strategy: We worked with the client’s corporate communication team to develop and deploy a Digital PR strategy that leveraged engaging content, influencer marketing and real-time brand monitoring to get the attention of avid investors, capital market analysts and stakeholders, as well as young upwardly Nigerians who saw a rare opportunity to invest in Nigeria’s fast growing Energy sector.
Results: In 2 months, we increased the client’s brand popularity by 850% and brand advertising value by 521% which contributed to its stock becoming the 6th most valuable with N2.8 trillion Market Capitalization. By extension, the Nigerian Exchange was greatly impacted by the client’s record-breaking performance as it became one of the top 5 best performing stock exchanges in the world based on volume of shares traded and Market Cap in Q1 2024 during which the client was listed.
